WASAC Ltd has contracted a Chinese Company to upgrade, rehabilitate and extend Kigali City and Peri-urban Water Network

Yesterday 12th November 2018 was a long-awaited day when a contract was signed between WASAC Ltd and China Railway Construction Engineering Group CO Ltd(CRCEG) for designing, rehabilitating, upgrading and extending Kigali City and Peri-urban water network.

Speaking before the signing ceremony, Eng. Aimé MUZOLA the CEO of WASAC Ltd urged CRCEG Engineers to work very hard to timely complete the works. He went on promising them a good cooperation with full support.

 “Call me any time and tell me obstacles you meet so that we find a solution ahead of time” said Eng. MUZOLA who strictly stressed that the execution time is limited, and the deadline must be met at any cost.

In his remarks after signing, Xie Zhixiang, the Managing Director of CRCEG showed the commitment on the side of the Chinese Company to offer quick and quality service to Rwandans. He said the company is ready to deploy highly experienced engineers to quickly complete the works and meet all the expectations to their Company.

According to Dominique MUREKEZI the SPIU Coordinator at WASAC Ltd, the works are set to start immediately after signature and the contract period is 2 years.

The CEO urged CRCEG Engineers to work as quick as possible to deliver timely 

Some areas of Kigali City and Peri-urban have been facing water shortages for many years especially due to small pipelines compared to the served population. As Kigali City grows so fast, it also emerged a need to upgrade and extend water network especially in areas of Kicukiro, Gasabo and other residential areas in Nyarugenge and Peri-urban areas.
